This sweet almond-infused mask is truly one of THE BEST conditioners I’ve ever tried! I first experienced this magic elixir in college through a beauty box I subscribed to. The mask quickly did wonders for my hair and got me hooked to its delicious coconut, avocado, and sweet almond scent. With a powerful mix of vitamin B5 and biotin, this deep conditioner is everything you’d want in a hair mask. Might I add, it’s also sulfate-free, silicone-free, paraben-free, phthalates-free, and artificial dyes-free!

What’s in it?

This 98% naturally-derived formula has water, cetyl alcohol*, brassica alcohol, behentrimonium methosulfate, stearyl alcohol*, and propanediol* as its first five ingredients. It’s also infused with orange, grapefruit, lemon, and tangerine oil to help soften curls.

  • Brassica alcohol is unlike other drying alcohols— it softens hair and makes it manageable.
  • Propanediol* keeps hair shiny and increases its strength.
  • Stearyl alcohol* also softens hair.
  • Cetyl alcohol* creates that famous slip we all love in conditioners.
  • Behentrimonium methosulfate soothes the scalp and gently detangles curls.

*Coconut vegetable or plant-derived.

Does it Help My Curls?

According to Briogeo, a clinical study found “hair treated with the deep conditioning mask showed a 75% reduction in breakage after 3 uses compared to untreated hair.” Rosehip oil helps in repairing split ends while algae extract serves as antioxidants to deliver vitamins to the hair shaft. Briogeo recommends covering the hair with a plastic cap while sitting under a dryer for 20 minutes, but I found 10 minutes was all I needed to see the lustrous, gorgeous hair I wanted.

How Much is it?

Although it runs on the expensive side —$36 for 8 oz. and $115 for 32 oz.—the vitamins and deep moisturizers really pack a punch. If you’re pinched for money, Briogeo also offers a 4-month installment, interest-free payment plan of $9.00.

Stash it or Trash it?

Stash it! Although expensive, it always seems to find it’s way back into my cabinet… If you prefer to try before investing, you can try their deep conditioning hair cap system kit. I’ve never tried this kit before but if it’s anything like the actual mask, I would definitely try it!
